Athletics

We have over the years of St. Mary’s existence participated in recreational athletic leagues in men’s and women’s softball and men’s basketball, as well as sponsoring the Tony Aliffi golf tournament each year as a fund raiser for outreach.

One of the hopes as we re-design our use of the space which the new sanctuary provides us is to develop more systematic youth athletics in what was the primary parish meeting hall. As in so many activities, it is our hope that “if we build it, they will come”, “they” in this case being enthusiastic kids and dedicated volunteer coaches.

As in the adult teams, the emphasis will always be on fellowship, team-building, and Christian values, even in the context of cheerful competition.
