ST. Mary's Youth and the Diocese

The St. Mary’s youth program has always encouraged participation by our teens and young adults in the Diocesan and national youth renewal movement known as “Happening,” (Senior High), New Beginnings (Junior High), and other youth conventions and conferences. Many of them have served as staff members at these events, and some have been leaders in the Diocese and beyond.

Not only have these programs and conferences broadened the perspective of the individual young people attending them, they have kept St. Mary’s youth involved in and knowledgeable of  attitudes and ideas from contexts far beyond Irmo, S.C., increasing their awareness of ethics and religion as global concerns.
