Shepherd's Center of St. Andrew's
Part of a national interfaith learning program for persons fifty and above, the Shepherd’s Center is a lively center of activities, classes, and trips. Meeting every Tuesday for “Adventures in Learning,” the Center offers academic classes in wide-ranging topics, from ‘America’s Future in the World’ to ‘The Science of Baseball’ to ‘Comparative Religion.’ Crafts and leisure classes include art, bridge, quilting, line-dancing, beading, etc. Day trips to sites of historical or cultural interest are available during each 10-week session. A service project to assist local groups in need is undertaken during each session.
Sponsored by area churches, including Saint Mary’s, the Center is housed nearby on Ashland Road and a number of our parishioners participate. The current President of the Center is from Saint Mary’s. If you are interested in this exciting fellowship and intellectual opportunity, you can find brochures and companions at Saint Mary’s. Or call the Center office: 731-9394.
