Confirmation For Youth & Adults
One of the traditional sacraments of the Episcopal Church is Confirmation, a service in which the candidate is asked by the bishop to “confirm” formally his baptismal vows. There is a period of instruction before this step is taken in order to explore and clarify the beliefs of the church to the candidates.
At a specially designated service, the candidates then declare their commitment to these beliefs, and are welcomed into the community by the “laying on of hands” by the bishop. It is for many a very moving experience as an entry into full participation in the life of the church. |
